Explanation of the course
This program will give you the tools to identify the main fish species in the ocean, their common characteristics and how they differ from other marine organisms. We will analyze their biology, behavior, misconceptions about them, and the human impact on ocean ecosystems. We will also learn to identify and classify fish species according to their physical traits, behaviors, habitats and geographical locations. On the other hand, we will study the interactions between different organisms and their environment and energy flows in ocean ecosystems, helping you understand your role in their changing ecology. Discover Marine Ecology: Learn from your new classroom, the ocean!
Program content
- Fish Identification course (8 modules) and Marine Ecology course (6 modules) with their corresponding evaluations. Online theory to do at your own pace from home and with support from our instructors through video calls or face-to-face classes if necessary. Your learning is our priority.
- 2 open water dives (Fun Dives) to put all the theoretical learning into practice together with your instructor.
- 2 seminars on species identification and marine ecology by our collaborating marine biologists.
